¹Sydney is the capital city of the state of New South Wales. ²It is the largest city in Australia with a population of around 5.2 million. ³Its beautiful harbour is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. ⁴However, its city centre has become increasingly congested with traffic. ⁵This has resulted in increased air pollution and also an increase in angry and frustrated commuters. ⁶The city council introduced measures to address the problem. ⁷These include very expensive parking fees and strict bus lanes and bicycle lanes to encourage commuters to leave their cars at home. ⁸Unfortunately, however, a high number of commuters continue to use their cars to drive into the city centre.
